Windows
Wooden windows vary in design, style, shapes and sizes and every property has a different window specification. All of our windows are tailor made to suit the needs of the client and the vernacular design of the building. During our consultation meeting, we will discuss the various options available to you and give advice on the style, functionality, performance and long term maintenance of your windows.
Style
Choosing the correct style of window to match the age of the property is critical, so that the character of the building is maintained. If your property is listed, we can work with you and your local Listed Buildings Officer to ensure that your new windows offer you maximum performance with minimal detriment to the design of the property.
Functionality and Performance
All of our windows are designed to give you maximum performance and to meet current Building Regulations. All windows are fitted with draught seals, trimvents, 24mm glazing (unless otherwise specified) and we can offer you a selection of handles, depending upon the style of your windows.
Ironmongery
Attention to detail is everything and choosing the correct hardware for your windows is very important. We can offer you a range of styles and designs to complement your new wooden windows.
Factory finishing
To give your new wooden windows the best start in life, we strongly recommend that the windows are fully finished in-house by our specialist joinery coatings team. This ensures that the windows receive maximum coverage and a ‘high build’ of coating thickness for extended weather protection and durability. By spray painting the windows, every part of the window is coated and the end grains are sealed to prevent moisture ingression. We only use water-based stains, primers and top coats from leading manufacturers with long term warranties on all of our window finishes.
Maintenance
Far from the days of old, modern windows that have been fully finished in house will require a minimal amount of maintenance for at least the first 5-8 years (depending on your location and exposure). Regular maintenance consisting of a simple wipe down to remove surface dust and dirt and an inspection of the coating to check for damaged areas is all that is required. When a re-coat is required, simply wipe down with a liquid detergent and apply one coat of the original coating.
